SLIP: Surplus Lines Information Portal

Ensures Regulatory and Financial Compliance Through Periodic Reviews

The Compliance Review program helps to ensure compliance by the surplus lines agents relative to the export of surplus lines insurance contracts, to provide educational assistance to surplus lines agents where needed, and to measure the quality of service provided in the marketplace.

The Compliance Review module can be customized to the specific compliance rules of your state. Typically reviews include a basic verification of information such as:

  • Policy premium, tax, fee, and assessment calculations;
  • Policy face page requirements;
  • Diligent effort forms; and
  • Disclosure forms.
Since the inception of the Compliance Review program in 2002, compliance rates have improved from 83% to 97%.

Compliance Review is a module in the RAPID (Regulatory Administration Platform for Insurance Data) system designed for regulators and stamping offices.
